I finally did it. At 32, I got braces. Not the kind that’s invisible. The kind with metal wires and clear brackets. So yes, they’re visible. And best of all I’m starting a new job on Monday. I think I had fooled myself into thinking that they’re not going to be that obvious. I guess they won’t be obvious if a person is standing at least 10 feet away from me. I survived the twenties. Finally, I feel like I’m at a good place, and now I’m feeling awkward again. I just have to remind myself that it’s only six months. (more…)

After spending four wonderful days in DC, I’m back in LA and I’m kind of sad. I really enjoyed spending time in our nation’s capital and most of all, spending quality time with my friend Matt. Up until this weekend, I had met Matt only once. This was about five years ago, through my friend Fawn, and the minute I met him I knew it was love at first sight. And one of the best things about visiting DC, was meeting all the important people in Matt’s life, that up until now I had only read about. I got to meet Mikey, Clay, Tim(tation) and… Delia. The fabulous, gorgeous Delia.

An unqualified, inexperienced, gun-toting, American-flag bikini-wearing pretty face. And don’t get me started on the Hillary comparisons. Really? You’re going to compare an inexperienced, hillbilly, to an accomplished, experienced, intelligent woman? What exactly are we comparing here? That both women have vagina? That’s about the only thing that these candidates have in common. And as far as Palin’s comment about shattering the glass ceiling… I’ve got news for you lady. A woman in the VP spot does NOT shatter the glass ceiling. If she did, then Geraldine Ferraro shattered that ceiling 20 years ago on the Democratic ticket. A woman on the VP spot is just not good enough. An inexperienced woman on the VP spot is even worst. That is NOT shattering the glass ceiling.
