So a few weeks ago I joined Nerve.com and I have to say that so far I’m impressed with the selection. I’ve been exchanging emails with some interesting guys and one of my Nerve boys asked for my email address. We were having technical difficulties with Nerve so I gave him one of my email addresses. The one that doesn’t show my actual name so he can’t google me and get too much info about me. So we exchanged some emails, discussed some politics, and this led to my first online rejection. The best part of this rejection? It had nothing to do with looks, but it was over political candidates. And I wasn’t rejected by a conservative, but by another liberal. So I figured I’d share. (To protect his identity, I deleted his email address and his last name.) (more…)

Today, Bill Richardson joined the parade of mostly white, male politicians endorsing Barack Obama. I find it interesting that the guy who benefited so much from the Clinton administration, decided to endorse Barack Obama, instead of Hillary Clinton. Why? Because the boys club of Washington does NOT want a woman in the White House. They think it’s good enough that we have Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House, 3rd in line from the Presidency. The good news is that we’re only a heart attack and an assassination* away from having a woman president. The bad news is that this scenario is highly unlikely. (more…)

The word monster has been used a lot recently to describe Hillary Clinton and every time I hear this word my stomach turns. I detest the likes of Samantha Power. Samantha Power set the women’s movement back by hundred years by calling Hillary Clinton a monster. In fact, there’s a generation of women who are reaping the benefits of the feminist movement but have no problem castigating women like Hillary Clinton.

Today’s Chemistry match is a real winner. The guy is looking for “an affectionate, ultra-feminine, and attractive woman who’s in great shape and committed to staying that way.” He goes on to mention that he looks 30 years old or younger and prefers someone who looks this young as well. He’s describes himself as affectionate and encouraging type of person and goes on to say, “I love to bring out the best in a woman and to be there for her to give her all the encouragement and support she can use to be all that she longs to be.”

A few months ago I decided to expand my selection of men*, so I signed up for online dating. So far, chemistry.com has generated zero chemistry. And lately, they’ve been sending me random matches that I’ve already met in real life and I know for a fact that I don’t have chemistry with these people. I live in LA, how hard can it be for them to send me matches that I don’t already know in real life (within 5 mile radius of 90068, who’s not a vegetarian, a Republican, or a proud parent). Is that too much to ask for? (more…)

I moved to Hollywood about 6 years ago. I’ve lived in LA most of my life and up until recently Hollywood was a kind of a shady part of LA. There were no celebs, no paparazzi, no lines at the bars/clubs, no cover (or at most $5). And valet did not exist. The most expensive parking in the neighborhood was $5. That’s it. Well, things have changed a lot. (more…)

Spent a good part of Saturday afternoon campaigning for Hillary Clinton, calling voters in Texas. I’m exhausted. Here are some observations…

  1. Texans sound really different. I live in California. I’m used to all the different accents in California… including my own. But Texans sound different. Now I’ll be able to spot a Texan in California just by hearing them talk (and I will try to do my best NOT to honk at them as they drive their big huge SUVs, with Texas license plates, 20 miles in a 35 mile zone, looking for parking).
